Nancy Susan Ikerd, Betty Taylor Owen

Nancy Susan Ikerd, age 49, of Russellville, passed away Monday, October 25, 2004, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield.
Mrs. Ikerd was a native of Huntsville but had lived in Russellville for the past 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was secretary for Attorney Jerry Porch and teacher at Calhoun Community College. Mrs. Ikerd was preceded in death by her parents, Bryce and Peggy Porter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel in Russellville with Dr. Gene Balding officiating. Interment was in Old Union Cemetery in Guin.
Pallbearers were Terry Goodin, Butch Harkness, Howard Lamm, Tim Townley, Frankie Hammock and Ronnie Boutwell. Jerry Porch was an honorary bearer.
Mrs. Ikerd is survived by her husband, Ted Ikerd; five children, Kathryn Nicole Stancil and husband Jeremy, Brandon Lee Ikerd, Jennifer Michelle Ikerd, Tony Bonds, and Misty Kennemur, all of Russellville; two brothers, William Steven Porter and wife Johanna, of Huntsville, and Edward Keith Porter and wife Carla, of Smyrna, Tennessee; a grandson, Dawson Lee Ikerd; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Russellville High School Media Center or American Cancer Society.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Betty Taylor Owen, age 71, of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, October 25, 2004.
Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her parents, William Laughton Taylor and Elsie DeFoor Taylor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Terry DeFoor officiating. Interment was in Phil Campbell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Lawrenz, David Lawrenz, Dale Lawrenz, Dennis Hill, Derick Hill and Anthony Montalto. Honorary bearers were Brian Lawrenz and Benton Nix.
Mrs. Owen is survived by her husband, Jack Owen; a son, Kent Owen and wife Charlotte; a daughter, Sherri Stancil and husband Jamie; a sister, Jean Lawrenz; and eight grandchildren, Christi Owen Nix and husband Benton, Ashley Owen, Whitney Spencer, Ramsey Owen, Brittany Owen, Jake Spencer, Britney Stancil and Ben Stancil.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
