EUPORA Graveside services for James S. Puckett will be held Friday at Eupora Cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Puckett, 76, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was born in Columbus and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1954 and remained a loyal bulldog fan and a longtime member of the alumni association. He was in the insurance business for several years and had a hearing aid dealership for more than 27 years. He was a member of the Mississippi Hearing Aid Dealers Association, a Mason and a Shriner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, John Puckett and his wife, Donna, of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Stephanie of Greensboro, Hunter Puckett of Meridian, Amber Robertson and her husband, Lee; and a great-grandson, Maddox Robertson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rex; his parents, a sister and a brother.

DEKALB Graveside services for Mary L. Knox will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Scooba with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Knox, 82, of Scooba, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, in Marion. She was a retired bookkeeper for Southern Oil Company.
Survivors include a daughter, Carlie Knox; a son, Clyde Knox and his wife, Kim; grandchildren, Houston Knox, Jennifer Knox, Lindsey Knox and Kacey Knox; a great-grandson, Trent Knox, all of Scooba; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Knox.
Pallbearers will be Mose Fleming, Jimmy Fleming, Paul Howard, Frank Boyd Jr., David Hosemann, Billy Paxton, Donald Thompson and Riley Harper.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

WAYNESBORO Services for Sgt. Frank Earl Cooper will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Advial McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Davenport Cemetery. McDonald and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sgt. Cooper, 65, of Shubuta, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Cooper; step-sons, Sherman Howze and Dexter Howze; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Williams; a sister, Lee Edna Brown; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Services for Leegertha Wilson will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerome Bates officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson, 83, of Bailey, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Bettie Wilson, Bernadette Harden and Garie Harden, all of Bailey; sons, Jerry Wilson of Bailey, Marcus Wilson of Montgomery, Ala. and Kenneth Wilson of Woodbridge, Va.
Visitation will be Friday from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for John Henry James will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Cleveland Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery in Daleville. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James, 79, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his daughter, Hattie Hinds; sons, Cornelious James and his wife, Mattie, of Artesia, Gleen Roberts and his wife, Martha, of Fort Hood, Texas, Jerry Cole and his wife, Gloria, and David Cole and his wife, Colar, all of Chicago; a brother, Cornelious James and his wife, Shirley, of Cleveland, Ohio; 26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the community chapel.

Services for Charles Drinker will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Tamola Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Drinker, 72, of Russell, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Thedford Drinker of Russell; daughters, Carrie B. Howze of State Line and Legertha Ramy; a son, Charles Drinker Jr. of Hattiesburg; step-daughters, Deborah Thedford of Springfield, Va., Doris Piper and Cynthia Thedford, both of Charleston, S.C. and Diane Thedford of Marion; sisters, Joyce Robinson of Albany, N.Y., Kim Sprague of Wayne, N.J., Renee Glover of Compton, Calif., Vera Lampley of Gulfport, Virginia Rich of Waynesboro, Christine Bulley of Kansas City, Kan., and Annie Drinker of Cleveland, Ohio.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
