Services for Edward C. Straight will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pack Cemetery in Lauderdale.
Mr. Straight, 52, of Lauderdale, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include his mother, Lancie M. Straight of Lauderdale; his step-father, Walter Cooper II of Lauderdale; a daughter, Jasmine Straight of Meridian; a son, Sed Hall of Meridian; a sister, Lucinda Whitlock of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

VACAVILLE, Calif. Memorial services for Charles W. "Chuck" Forehand will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Crossroads Christian Church in Vacaville with the Rev. Bruce Gallaher and John Erickson officiating. Members of the Richmond Fire Department will ring Capt. Forehand out and serve as honor guard. Nadeau Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Forehand, 61, of Chester, Calif., died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, in his home. He was an active member of Crossroads Christian Church in Vacaville. He served as the director of Prime Timers Senior Ministries, and led small group Bible study on Thursday afternoons. He was also a member of the Conservative Investment Club, a local branch of the National Association of Investment Clubs. He had a love of cooking and was a regular at the Nugget Cooking School. His hobbies were varied and included fishing at Lake Almanor, woodworking, helping anyone in need and traveling the world. His gift was serving which he did with a smile and a sincere heart.
He volunteered in the English department at Will C. Wood High School where he chaperoned field trips, assisted in repairing items throughout the department, and was a role model for many high school students. He had just begun serving as a volunteer for Vaca F.I.S.H.
Mr. Forehand loved his profession. He was a caption with the City of Richmond Fire Department for 30 years. He had a passion for his job and never had a day that he did not want to go to work. He retired as a hazardous materials captain from the department in 1998.
He was a native of Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in 1961. He held certificates in fire science from several community colleges. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1964 to 1970 and saw active duty in Vietnam in 1967.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rose Mary; his daughters, Lorin of Fair Oaks, Calif. and Meghan of San Diego and her fiance, Jim Jarnac of Guam; a sister, Nell Ray Smith of Cerrito; a brother, Bill Forehand and his wife, Cheri, of Medford, Ore.; nieces and nephews, Jamie Ray DeVries and her husband, Mike, of Mission Viejo, Stephanie Burke and her husband, Brian, of Chino, David Forehand and his wife, Vicki, Brian Forehand and his wife, Julie, and Rebecca Biggs and her husband, Jerry, all of Oregon; great-nieces and great-nephews, Joshua, Megan, Mikayla, Madison, Tyler, Alex, Matt, Serena, Kaitlin, and Kelsey; and his "adopted" son, Risto Pelivanov of Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill "Henry" and Nell Forehand of Richmond; and his parents-in-laws, Zebbie and Myrtle Hodges of Meridian.
Memorials may be made to US Bank of Vacaville for the Chuck Forehand Memorial/Scholarship Fund.
A reception will be immediately following the memorial service at the church for all friends and family members.
Services for Larry Birdell Jackson were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Preston with the Revs. Wayne Benn and Marcus Holliday officiating. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jackson, 55, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie H. Jackson; a son, Larry B. Jackson Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Omaha, Neb.; a step-son, the Rev. Marcus Holliday and his wife, Ambra, of DeKalb; daughters, Chantel Jackson Brown and her husband, Erand, of Omaha and Kuristy D. Jackson of DeKalb; brothers, Frank R. Jackson and his wife, Judy, Shelly Mitchell and his wife, Audrey, Wilbert Jackson, Terry M. Jackson and his wife, Joyce, Lucious M. Jackson and his wife, Rosalyn, Michael C. Jackson and his wife, Rosie, and Hansel D. Jackson and his wife, Thelma; sisters, Callie Y. Moore and her husband, Leddrew, Evangeline Hardaway, Dorothy J. McCoy and her husband, Joe Lee, Cynthia Magee and her husband, James, and Ava Jackson; his mother-in-law, Rosie Holliday; seven brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; two aunts; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Jackson Scott; and a brother, Enos "Happy" Jackson.
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for Cecil Townsend, 92, of Collinsville, who died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for William J. "Bubber" Dearman, 67, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
