Jessica Michelle Sistrunk of Hickory and Tyler David Thomas of Chunky were married Saturday, July 10, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Newton with the Rev. David Williamson officiating.
Parents of the couple are Gary and Kim Benton of Hickory, Jamie and Nelda Sistrunk of Collinsville and Larry and Sandra Thomas of Chunky.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Miller of Hickory; Jewel Sistrunk of Meridian and the late James Sistrunk.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Coker, Louise Thomas and the late Ernie Towne and A.D. Thomas, all of Meridian.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Brian Weir, pianist; Bruce Thomas and the Rev. Randy Cuchens, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and step-father. She wore a satin strapless gown with a Basque waistline that flowed into a semi-cathedral-length train. The bodice and train were accented with crystal and sequin beading. She wore a veil of silk illusion with small diamonds.
Rachel Massey served as matron of honor. Natalie Courvelle was maid of honor. Other attendants were Sandra Crawford, Robyn Posey and Jessica Courvelle.
Jeremy Luke served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Joe Cavenaugh, Bruce Thomas, Matthew Sistrunk, Scott Therrell, Jordy Luke, Caleb Courvelle and Nathan Miller.
Flower girls were Kristen Thomas, niece of the bridegroom, Claire Miller, cousin of the bride, and Abigail Gist, daughter of the bride. Bradley Crawford served as ring bearer.
A reception was held at the historic Newton Train Depot. Assisting at the reception were Connie McMillian, Samantha Jenkins, Laurie Page, Tracey Harris, Susan Cuchens, Leisa Shumaker, Lydia Boutwell, Cheryl Thomas, Missy Miller, Shirley Garvin, Jennifer Cuchens and Sarah Beth Boutwell.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple resides in Hickory.
