Retired mechanic with Burlington Industry
Services for Edward "Peter" Hearn will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church in Quitman with the Rev. Lummie Hearn officiating. Burial will be in Archusa Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hearn, 67, of Quitman, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Haralson and her husband, Willie; and a son, Edward F. Hearn, both of Quitman; two sisters, Annie Scarbrough of Quitman and Katie Mays of Meridian; two brothers, the Rev. Lummie Hearn of Stockton, Calif., and Willie Hearn of Quitman; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services for Jamie Ray McDonald will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.R. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery with James L. Osby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McDonald, 55, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Riley Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his brothers, Willie McDonald and his wife, Annie Bell, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Robert McDonald and Johnny McDonald of Meridian; sisters, Lena Anderson, Lillie Elaire, Mary Evans and her husband, Percy, and Georgia Jones and her husband, Jimmy, all of Meridian; an aunt, Annie Lee Hicks of Philadelphia; and a great-aunt, Georgia Greer of DeKalb.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Dorothy Marshall will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Marshall, 59, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice. She was employed with Harry Mayer clothing store.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Burage of Meridian; sons, Michael Burage and his wife, Donna, of Meridian and John Marshall of Stone Mountain, Ga.; daughters, Doris Marshall, Sabrina Lewis and her husband, Patrick, Salena Edmond and her husband, Jerry, all of Meridian; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Marshall, her father, a brother and a daughter.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Mary McMullen Newton will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Newton, of Birmingham, Ala., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Beverly Ingram Nursing Home in Pell City, Ala.
She was a longtime resident of Meridian and a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Don A. Newton and his wife, Coleta, of Birmingham; a grandson, Don A. Newton Jr. and his wife, Allison, of Pell City; a granddaughter, Midge Rast and her husband, Ward, of Birmingham; two great-grandsons, Sam Newton of Pell City and Thomas E. Rast III, of Birmingham; four nieces, Carolyn Lockwood and Jean Barnes and her husband, Harry, all of Meridian, Frances Trawick of Omaha, Neb., and Suzanne Howes of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a nephew, the Rev. David Fuller of Brandon, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, W.L. "Fred" Newton.
The family requests memorials be made to Lakeside Hospice, P.O. Box 544, Pell City, AL 35125.
Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Annette Hudson, 44, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
DEKALB Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for David Hoyt, of DeKalb, who died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in his home.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Rodney D. "Coach" Walker, 87, of Meridian, who died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Lakeland Nursing Home in Jackson.
