50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Trayal celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 14, 2004. The couple married in 1954 and have two sons, Ken Trayal of Meridian, and Keith Trayal of Meridian and his wife, Penny. They also have four grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Kasey Trayal, Chelsey Trayal and Chase Trayal. The Trayals are retired and reside in Meridian. Mrs. Trayal is the former Billie W. Davidson.
50th anniversary
Bill and Shirley Glenn recently celebrated their 50th
anniversary with a trip to Pensacola, Fla., with their family. The couple was married Aug. 14, 1954, at Beulah Baptist Church pastorium with the Rev. W.E. Overstreet officiating. They have two daughters, Kathy Gressett and her husband, Danny, and Karen Lanier and her husband, Wayne. The Glenns have four grandchildren, Allison and Corey Gressett and Jared and Courtney Lanier. Mr. Glenn is retired from Newton County and Mrs. Glenn is retired from Newton County Extension Service.
50th anniversary
The Rev. and Mrs. Eugene Welborn of Meridian celebrated their 50th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. The Welborns were married Aug. 14, 1954, at Canton Assembly of God Church. Mr. Welborn is a retired Assembly of God minister.
50th anniversary
Tony and Dean Abston will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m., at Howard Johnson Motor Lodge, Meridian. The reception is hosted by their daughter, Marilyn Abston Whiting and her husband, David, and grandson Jonathan Whiting. The Abstons met at Bethany Pentecostal Church, Quitman, and were married Sept. 4, 1954, at the bride's family home.
25th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hugh McCraney will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 18, 2004. The McCraneys were married on Aug. 18, 1979, at First Baptist Church, Meridian. They have six children: W. Marshall McCraney, Rachel L. McCraney, Anna J. McCraney, Paul H. McCraney, Joy E. McCraney and Luci Grace McCraney. Mrs. McCraney is the former Anne Marie Howard.
