Services for Joan C. Irby will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Jim Meadows and Marty Harper officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Irby, 71, of Meridian, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She attended Long Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the clinical records department at Rush Medical Group. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted sister and friend.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Dave Irby and his wife Debbie and Terry Joe Irby and his wife Janet, all of Meridian; a daughter, Bunnie Copeland and her husband David of Hattiesburg; sisters, Sarah Cowan of Pensacola, Fla., Genevieve Darby of Pensacola and Dorine Rawson of Meridian; brothers, Bill Covington of Birmingham, Ala., and Jim Covington of Matthews, N.C.; grandchildren, Renae Irby, Steve Irby, Eric Irby and Blair Rawson; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Nelson Irby and a sister, Martha Everson.
Pallbearers will be Ray Meadows, John Meadows, Elson Meadows, James Rawson, Guy Meador and Charles Coleman.
Memorials may be made to the Long Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
