Deavers, Mathis

Lisa Owens of Meridian and Dennis Deavers of Toomsuba announce the engagement of their daughter, Lesley Denise Deavers, to Shannon Roy Mathis, son of Denise Mathis of Clarkdale and Jim Mathis of Quitman.
The wedding will be Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God in Meridian.
Miss Deavers is the granddaughter of Willie J. Hedgepeth of Meridian and the late Helen Jo Hedgepeth, and Onie Mae Deavers of Meridian and the late Samuel Deavers.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Clarkdale High School and Meridian Community College. She is pursuing a degree in elementary education at the Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus.
Miss Deavers is employed by Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Mathis is the grandson of Peggy Mathis of Quitman and the late DeWayne Mathis, and the late Roy and Bertha Williams of Stonewall.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Quitman High School and Jones County Junior College. He is employed by R&M Construction.
Miss Deavers and Mr. Mathis both attend Cornerstone Church of God, where Dee is involved in music ministry and Shannon is involved in the children's ministry.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
