ABATE to host family day Saturday

The local chapter of the American Bikers Active Towards Education will celebrate Motorcycle Awareness Month with a family day and bike rally on Saturday.
The event will be from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Meridian's Highland Park at the shelter beside the ball field. This is the third year for the event.
Officers from DARE and representatives from Metro Ambulance will be on hand speak to children. At about 1 p.m. a special program on bicycle safety will be presented to children, who are encouraged to bring their bikes to the event.
Admission is free and the public is welcome. Food and live music will be provided. All proceeds from the day's event will benefit Meridian's Care Lodge. For information, call White at 693-5769.
