Clarkdale has to wait for title shot

Clarkdale is running into the same trouble it had at the start of the fast-pitch softball season as the Lady Bulldogs try to end the season.
Clarkdale, which is trying to pick up its second state championship, had its opening game of the Class 1A/2A championship series against Desoto Central rained out on Saturday. The game was scheduled to be played in Desoto.
The first game of the best-of-three state championship series has been rescheduled to be played at 4 p.m. on Monday at Desoto.
Clarkdale will host the second game of the series at 3 p.m. on Thursday. A third game, if necessary, will follow Thursday's game.
This is the second time Clarkdale and Desoto have had to reschedule games for the Class 1A/2A title series.
The series was originally scheduled to start on Thursday at Desoto, with Clarkdale hosting the second and if-necessary games on Saturday.
The original format had to be shifted because of state testing.
Clarkdale may have an edge in preparing for the championship series, as the team gets ready to make its third straight appearance in the finals.
The Lady Bulldogs won Class 1A/2A state crown in 2002, and the finished second to Mooreville last season.
