Myrick wins MGA four ball title

It was a good weekend for Meridian Community College golfer Joel Myrick.
The Ole Miss signee helped fire a tournament-low 62 on Sunday to run away with the Mississippi Golf Association's BancorpSouth State Four Ball Tournament title in Hattiesburg.
After rounds of 66 and 70 on Friday and Saturday, Myrick and partner Austin Brown of Hinds Community College pulled away from the pack in the final round to win by four strokes.
That changed on Sunday. Myrick and Brown holed five birdies each on their way to a six-under score on the front nine at Timberton Golf Club Myrick's home course. Constant wind and a dry, hard course made things tougher, but Myrick's experience proved invaluable.
Myrick and Brown finished Friday in an eight-way tie for fourth place, and stayed in contention on Saturday despite picking up four more strokes.
On Sunday, the duo left the rest of the field in the dust.
