Mr. and Mrs. Charles Young of Detroit announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya Michelle, to Henry "Slim" Foster, son of Enda R. May of Hartford, Conn.
The wedding will be Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Young is the granddaughter of Ester Walker and the late Charlie C. Young of Meridian.
The bride-elect attended Meridian Community College.
Mr. Foster is the grandson of the late Tom Searight of Hartford.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Hartford Public High School and attended Boston University.
A reception will be held in the ballroom at Howard Johnson in Meridian.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
