Mr. Hampton, 71, of Newark, N.J., died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Beth Israel Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Esmene Hampton of Newark; three sisters, Guyora Bonds of DeKalb, Annual R. Curry of Cleveland, Ohio, and Johnnie R. King of Wesson; three brothers, Ivory D. Hampton of Meridian, Willie Hampton of Cleveland and Artis W. Hampton of Monroe, N.Y.; five children; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Margaret "Maggie" Sue Eakes will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Miss Eakes, 92, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Bay Breeze Nursing Home.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
UNION Services for Jerry Lamar Williams will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Mr. Williams, 58, of Meridian, died Sunday, March 21, 2004. He was a truck driver for Irby Construction for 35 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Williams of Meridian; a son, Hubie Williams and his wife, Josie, of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, William Poffahl, Amanda Williams, Christiana Williams, and Hubie Williams II; a sister, Wilma Lucroy and her husband, Frank, of Pearl; two nieces, Karen Lyles and her husband, Gary, of Brandon and Kim Smith and her husband, Michael, of Carthage; a great niece, Emily Kate Smith; and a very special friend Kathleen Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubie and Ice Williams; and two brothers, Mack Williams and Dalton Williams.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN Graveside services for Maude Carter Gavin will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gavin, 98, of Quitman, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Mobile Infirmary, in Mobile, Ala. She and her husband owned and operated radio station WCOC in Meridian and The Clarke County Tribune.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Withers Gavin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Services for Frannie L. Benson will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie R. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Moscow. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Benson, 73, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Franklin and his wife, Joyce, and Roy Helen, all of Meridian; a sister, Annie Harris of St. Albany, N.Y., two brothers, Willie Franklin and his wife, Jerry, of Meridian, and Jimmie Franklin and his wife, Golda, of Nashville, Tenn.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
