Care Lodge unveils new fund-raiser

Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter is now accepting vehicle contributions to help fund its programs and supply transportation to some clients.
Leslie Payne, director of the shelter, said she is asking for donations of vehicles whether they run or not.
Payne said the "Cars for Care Lodge" program will mainly be used to raise money by selling the vehicles for use or for scrap.
Dee's Automotive will tow cars for Care Lodge and Steve Blackwell with Bill Ethridge Lincoln-Mercury Isuzu, Inc., is the dealer who is working with the program.
Care Lodge is a nonprofit charitable organization that serves Lauderdale, Clarke, Kemper, Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Scott and Winston counties. It provides shelter, services and assistance to victims of family violence. Donations to Care Lodge are tax deductible.
Care Loge is mainly funded through state and federal grants, but most of those grants require some type of a match.
Payne said Care Lodge will accept most vehicles, including, cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, trailers, boats, and recreational vehicles. Care Lodge also will pick up the vehicle to be donated. For more information on the program call Care Lodge at 482-8719.
