    Obituaries for Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004

    Services for Willie Cole will be held today at 2 p.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Odell Gray Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Savoy.
    Mr. Cole, 55, of Savoy, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
    Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Welby of Pascagoula; three sisters, Dorothy Cole and Alice Johnson, both of Meridian, and Nancy Earl of Milwaukee; four brothers, Lee Van Cole Jr., and Robert Lee Cole, both of Moss Point, Sammie Lee Cole Sr., of Gautier and John Ellis Cole of Racine, Wis.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Van Cole Sr., and his mother, Dosah Bell Cole.
    Retired
    NEWTON Services for Lester F. Miller will be held today at 3 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Steve Robinson and James Galloway officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Miller, 72, of Newton, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was the retired owner of Newton Pest Control.
    Survivors include his wife, Lessie Jo Miller; a daughter, Geraldine Seal and her husband, Ronnie, all of Newton; three sons, Danny Miller of Lake, Michael Miller and his wife, Kelly, of Decatur, and Glenn Miller of Canton; four brothers, Hubert Miller of Greenville, James Miller of Arizona, Thomas Miller of Union and Jimmy Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren, Eric Seal and his wife, Jessica, of Newton, Jenny Seal, Lindsey Miller, Kara Miller, Sidney Miller and Justin Miller; and a great-grandson, Lake Seal.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmose and Alice Chesney Miller; and a sister, Norma Covington.
    Pallbearers will be Barry Barrett, Benny Barrett, Orville Barrett, Ray Gordon, Layne McDill and Randy McDill.
    Log hauler
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Billy Townsend will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be in the Fellowship Cemetery in Philadelphia.
    Mr. Townsend, 64, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
    Survivors include his wife, Ruby Townsend; a daughter, Patsy Drake; sons, B.J. Townsend and George Townsend, all of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Duckworth of Pearl and a brother, Jerry Townsend, of McCool.
    Visitation will be today from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio Services for Otha Lee "O.J." Naze will be held Monday at noon in the L.E. Black, Phillips &Holden Funeral Home.
    Mr. Naze, 67, of Youngstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in his home.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Verdell DuBois; a son, Antron Naze; and a daughter, Tanya A. Naze, all of Youngstown; three stepdaughters, Darlene DuBois of Michigan, and Arlene William and Sophia DuBois both of Youngstown; two stepsons, Eric Williams of Birmingham, Ala., and Derrick DuBois of Youngstown; two sisters, Anna Bell Brown of Buffalo, N.Y., and Leola Porter of Meridian, Miss.; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and six sisters-in-law, Leona Naze, Queen DuBois, Elizabeth Clayton, Dimple Owens, Gloria Adams and Martha DuBois.
    Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

    DEKALB Services for Bessie L. Marsh will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. E.E. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in DeKalb. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Marsh, 89, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include her children, Dewitt Lainer, Lena Mae Kirk, Curtis Marsh, Louise Henderson and Lorene Griffin, all of Meridian, and Eugene Marsh of Coleman, Fla.; 65 grandchildren; 169 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband and 16 siblings.
    Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Community Chapel in Meridian.
    NEWTON Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Anne Leora Everett, 89, of Hickory, who died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in her home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Will Hodges Jr., 84, of Meridian, who died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Deborah Lashley, 48, of Collinsville, who died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in her home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry &Gardner Funeral Home for Sandra Jones, 51, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in her home.
    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Cora Mae Young, 101, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
