Bailey man dies after one-vehicle crash

John L. Brookshire, 62, of the Bailey community died Friday from injuries he apparently sustained in a one-vehicle crash earlier in the day.
Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said the sheriff's office was notified of the crash on Hillview Drive, off Highway 39 North, shortly after 9 a.m. Friday.
Calhoun said no other people were in the vehicle Brookshire was driving, a late 1980s model Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, and that no other vehicles were involved. He said Brookshire was transported to a local hospital, where he died at about 1 p.m.
