Congratulations to mom, first baby

Congratulations are in order to Lenora Beason of Meridian and the daughter she welcomed to this world at 2:35 a.m. on New Year's Day. Leraebeia Janoa Louise Beason was the first local baby born in the new year, delivered at Riley Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 and1⁄2 inches long.
First babies of a new year tend to attract a good bit of media attention, which is appropriate and appropriately wonderful.
But beyond the initial offerings of flowers and gifts from local well-wishers, we wish for Leraebeia Janoa Louise Beason a blessed life of health and happiness filled with love and joy.
