MSU fans create home atmosphere

OXFORD What home court advantage?
Close to 2,000 Mississippi State fans made the trip to Tad Smith Coliseum for the No. 22 Bulldogs' contest against archrival Ole Miss on Wednesday. Cheers of "Maroonwhite" filled the arena several times, and at times, the fans' jeers toward their hosts were just as audible as the home crowd's renditions of "Hotty Toddy."
Attendance was announced at 9,010
Jersey typo
Mississippi State guard Timmy Bowers is going to have to talk to his team's equipment manager.
The senior's maroon jersey read "BOWER" on Wednesday night a clear misspelling of his last name.
Bowers led all scorers with 18 points.
Downtown woes
Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State were ice-cold from three-point range. The Rebels were 3-of-11 (27.3 percent) from behind the arc, with long-range specialist Aaron Harper connecting on one of his two three-point attempts.
The Bulldogs fared even worse, shooting 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) on three-pointers.
Best start
With its 61-54 win over Ole Miss, Mississippi State improved to 12-0 for the first time in school history. The Bulldogs have been 11-0 twice, only to fall each time in their 12th contest. Mississippi State's previous 11-0 start came two years ago.
