Closing out the Lockheed Martin shooting probe

Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie and the grand jury have closed out the investigation into the July 8 shootings at Lockheed Martin. They found, essentially, that a lone gunman who also took his own life was responsible for killing and injuring co-workers.
Reportedly, several lawsuits are in various stages of preparation and we have no doubt that many of the parties affected by this senseless act of a single person will get their day in court. That's the American way.
But while the legal system churns on, our community should take comfort in the fact that our law enforcement professionals, men such as Sollie, have taken a serious, thorough, comprehensive approach to the investigation. They were determined to get to the bottom as far as humanly possible of this sad and tragic case. We believe they have done so.
