SEBASTOPOL Services for Jack Barrett will be held today at 10 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mark Copeland and H.L. Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the High Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Scotty Barrett and his wife, Wendy, of Sebastopol and Wesley Barrett and his wife, Karen, of Columbus; four grandchildren, John Wesley Barrett, Rachel Barrett, Luke Barrett and Austin Barrett; a sister, Willie Dully of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Moulds, Ben Crocker, Horval Jones, C.D. Graham, Wayne Griffin and Sammy Joe Loper.
BUTLER, Ala. Graveside services for Washington "Wash" Bruister Scurlock, will be held today at 11 a.m. at Corinth Cemetery in Ararat, with the Rev. David Scurlock officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scurlock, 95, of Butler, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Willow Trace Nursing Center in Butler. He was a retired merchant and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include two brothers, Don P. Scurlock Sr., of Butler and Aaron Scurlock of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mary S. Barber of Butler and Rosa S. Green of Gilbertown; and several nieces and nephews.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Earline Price will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Rev. John Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Noxapater Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Price, 93, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Neshoba General Hospital.
Survivors include a son, James Price of Vicksburg; a son-in-law, Fulton Jackson of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Winnie H. Brown will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl White officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brown, 81, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
BUTLER, Ala. Memorial services for Paul Eugene Mickler will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Doug Stevens and Dennis Kennedy officiating.
Mr. Mickler, 77, of the Lusk community, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at his home. He was a pipe-fitter and welder for the Bectal Corporation and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Libsack Mickler of the Lusk community; two daughters, Lori Ann Jimerson of the Lusk Community and Sandra Girard of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a son, Rick Kraus of Lake Navasu, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mona Connell Trussell Gilder will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilder, 90, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Beverly HealthCare-Broadmoor.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Dennis Anthony Lenoir will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lenoir, 44, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
The family requests memorials be made to Central United Methodist Building Fund or Habitat for Humanity.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
HATTIESBURG Services for Erna Delk will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Delk, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on Oct. 15, 1924 in Grub, Germany and moved to the United States in 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Delk Sr.
She is survived and deeply missed by her four children and their spouses: Jack and Janice Delk of Ellisville, Raymond and Sandra Delk of Bay Springs, Robert and Diane Delk of Meridian, and Prentiss and Linda Delk Cowart of Hattiesburg; her nine grandchildren are Robin McCall and her husband, Perry, of Cornersville, Tenn., Amy Jiles and her husband, Chris, of Bay Springs, Eilene Woodward and her husband, Jonathan, of Gulfport, Russell Delk of Bay Springs, Alan Delk of Ellisville, Mallory Cowart of Hattiesburg, and the triplets, Mason, Anna-Kate, and Blake Cowart of Hattiesburg; her four great-grandchildren are Katlyn Richardson, Julia McCall and the twins, Lauren and Rebekah McCall.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services for Carolyn J. McClendon will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at 31st Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. S.L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McClendon, 42, of Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey McClendon of Houston; her mother, Ollie Payne of Meridian; her father, Thomas Payne Sr., of Houston; two sisters, Patsy Rue of Houston and Tonya Grady and her husband, Willie, of Meridian; and a brother, Thomas Payne Jr., of Meridian.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN Services for Bobby Strickland will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Family Life Church in Quitman with the Rev. Larry Leggett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Strickland of Quitman, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003.
Survivors include four sons, Christopher Strickland, Bobby Strickland Jr., Robert Strickland and Jeffrey Strickland, all of Racine, Wis.; a daughter, Mildred Turner of Meridian; three brothers, John Edward of Zion, Ill., and Marvin Strickland and Roger Strickland, both of Quitman; and a sister, Annie Ruth McCann of Quitman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
