Clarkdale rallies to win over Meridian

Clarkdale rallied from a 9-4 deficit to take a 19-10 slow-pitch softball victory over Meridian Saturday afternoon at Clarkdale.
Clarkdale had 21 hits and took advantage of eight Meridian errors which led to 14 unearned runs.
Clarkdale led 4-0 early only to have Meridian go up 9-4 with four runs in the top of the third and five more in the fifth. Artesian Boyd's grand slam to left-center highlighted the fifth frame uprising.
The Lady Bulldogs put together seven hits to go with four Meridian errors in the bottom of the fifth to reclaim the lead at 16-10.
Meridian had 14 hits with Boyd going 3-for-4 with a double and a grand slam. Amber Felton went 3-for-3 and Lindsay Lang went 2-for-3.
Lindsay Dawkins went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for Clarkdale as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 9-5.
Bethany Spidle went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Megan Potate went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Savannah Satcher had two hits and two RBIs. Emily Howard went 2-for-3 with a triple, a two-run homer, and three RBIs. Ashley Bye had a solo homer and two RBIs.
Winning pitcher Whitney Drachenberg went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Casey Meador went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Brandi Wright had an RBI double. Alyssa Bye scored two runs.
Wright's double snapped a 10-10 tie in the bottom of the fifth. Meador followed with a two-out single that drove in two runs. Satcher added another two-run single in the big inning as Meridian fell to 2-7.
