    Neshoba Central takes two

    Neshoba Central blasted Clarkdale for 17 runs in the first three innings and held off a Lady Bulldog charge to take an 18-12 win in the Clarkdale Classic on Saturday.
    The Lady Rockets went 2-0 in the classic by ripping the ball. Neshoba Central also beat Enterprise 15-4 on Saturday.
    Neshoba Central opened the game with Clarkdale with six runs in the first inning. Laura Smith singled in a run and Sarah Williamson also knocked in a run with a single. Kady Chandler doubled in a run and Whitney White knocked in three runs with a double to make the score 6-0.
    Neshoba added five runs in the second inning to stretch the lead. Smith ripped a two-run homer and Smith had a solo shot to make the score 8-0.
    Williamson and Chandler each singled and after a Clarkdale error, White doubled for the second time in the game to make the score 11-0.
    Clarkdale scored two runs in the second on a two-run double by Emily Howard, but Neshoba answered with six runs in the top of the third inning.
    Samantha Giambrone blasted a three-run homer in the inning and Allison McDaniels brought in a run with a double. Williamson singled and Chandler added a double in the inning.
    Clarkdale avoided the run-rule with 10-run fifth inning led by a three-run homer by Howard, but could not finish the comeback and Neshoba held on for an 18-12 victory.
    Neshoba Central 15
    Enterprise 4
    Neshoba Central scored at least two runs in each inning and blew past Enterprise 15-4.
    The Lady Rockets scored five runs in the first inning to take an early lead. Giambrone, Williamson and McDaniels knocked in runs during the big inning.
    Enterprise answered with two runs in the bottom of the first as Amanda Parker ripped a two-run homer with two outs in the inning.
    Neshoba Central came back to score four runs in the second inning as Smith singled in a run, Giambrone brought in two runs with a single and Chandler singled to make the score 9-2.
    The Lady Rockets added four runs in the third inning as Smith and Giambrone hit back-to-back homers to make the score 13-2. Enterprise scored two runs in the fourth inning, but Neshoba Central added two runs in the fourth and held on for the run-rule victory.
    Clarkdale 14
    Northeast 4
    Clarkdale ripped the ball for five runs in the second inning and five runs in the fourth on its way to a 14-4 victory.
    The Lady Bulldogs played great defense and added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the run-rule win.
    Clarkdale jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a groundout by Ashley Bye.
    The Lady Bulldogs blew the game open with five runs in the second inning. After an error, Bethany Spidle and Kimbo Seale singled. Howard brought in three runs with a rip to left that got past the left fielder.
    Savannah Satcher brought in a run with a ground out to make the score 5-0. After a double by Megan Potate, Alyssa Bye double in the final run of the inning to make the score 6-0.
    Clarkdale added five runs in the fourth to make to score 11-0, but Northeast came back with fourth runs in the fifth inning to avoid the run-rule.
    Capri Norris singled in a run, Savannah Hall doubled in two runs and Shelley Odom brought in a run with a single to make the score 11-4.
    Clarkdale answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Satcher doubled and Potate walked and both scored on a Northeast error.
    The Lady Bulldogs took the victory in the bottom of the sixth as Brandi Wright, Casey Meador and Spidle each singled to start the inning. Wright scored on the Spidle single to make the final score 14-4.
    Newton County 12
    Northeast 11
    Newton County answered two Northeast comebacks to hold on for a 12-11 victory.
    The Lady Cougars jumped out to a 5-0 lead led by Joy Cavenaugh's two-run homer and looked to be in control of the ball game when Northeast scored six unanswered runs to take a 6-5 lead.
    The Lady Trojans scored a run in the fourth and added five runs in the fifth to take the 6-5 lead. Jennifer Bristow had a two-run double and Amber Gray brought in a run with a sacrifice fly in the big inning.
    Gardner brought in the tying run with a walk and Leanne Young's hit gave Northeast the lead.
    Newton County answered with two runs in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Jennifer Smith to take a 7-6 lead.
    Northeast scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to reclaim the lead, but Newton County came back for five runs in the top of the seventh. The big inning was led by a two-run double by Smith.
    Northeast scored two runs in the seventh inning, but stranded two runners in the last inning to fall 12-11.
