Services for James E. "Cotton" Snowden were to be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Gentry officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Snowden, 79, of Meridian, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a retired supervisor for Mississippi Power Co. and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was also a mason, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Gerald Wayne Snowden and his wife, Jackie, of Edna, Ala., J. Michael Snowden and his wife, Vickie, of Ridgefield, Wash. and David Stanley Snowden and his wife, Sara, of Brandon; grandchildren, Katina Snowden, Michael Shane Snowden, Jonathan Spann, Scarlett Spann, Michael Snowden, Victoria Snowden, Joseph Snowden, Lindsay Diane Snowden and Jeremy David Snowden; and great-grandchild, Mackenzie Alexis Snowden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Snowden, and his parents, C.G. Snowden Sr. and Rosa Kate Woodall Snowden.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Lloyd Allison Shoemaker will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Sterling Baptist Church with the Revs. Ben James and Grant McLain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shoemaker, 90, of Butler, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Mosley Shoemaker of Butler; daughters, Ellen Henderson of Jackson, Ala., Helen Thomas, Carolyn Moore, Alice Reid and Easter Reese, all of Butler; sisters, Zaddie Skelton of Halsell, Ala., and Ludie Mae Morgan of Big Bear City, Calif.; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. Graveside services for John Robert Breazeale will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta, Ga. Wages and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Breazeale, 70, of Marietta, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Marietta. He was born in Montevideo, Uraguay, South America and moved to Meridian when he was 12 years old. He was retired from the Intelligence and Security Directorate, U.S. Army Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., as chief of security division. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany.
He graduated from Meridian High School and Livingston University in Livingston, Ala. He was a member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Hazel Burnett Breazeale of Marietta; a daughter, Janet Bray and her husband, Richard, of Marietta; a son, Bob Brazeale and his wife, Mary, of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Brandon Bray, Anna Lauren Bray, Laura Breazeale and Matthew Breazeale.
