Cooper, Pearson

Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Cooper of Sumrall announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Diane, to Percy Loyd "P.J." Pearson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Pearson Sr. of Decatur.
The wedding will be Saturday, July 19, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur.
Miss Cooper is the granddaughter of Rachel Yawn of Sumrall and the late Reid Bennett, and Carol Cooper of Sumrall and the late Jerrell Cooper. She is the great-granddaughter of Bessie Bounds of Sumrall.
The bride-elect is a 1997 honor graduate of Oak Grove High School and a 2002 honor graduate of Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor's degree in poultry science. She is currently attending The College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU and will receive a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2006.
While at MSU, she has been an active member of numerous clubs and organizations.
Mr. Pearson is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blount of Decatur, and Rebecca Baker and the late Clovis Pearson of Louisville. He is the great-grandson of Mary Green of Louisville.
The bridegroom-elect is a 1997 graduate of Newton County High School and a 1999 graduate of Holmes Community College. He received his bachelor's of business administration degree, with an emphasis in management of construction and land development, in 2002 from Mississippi State University.
While at MSU, he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He is employed as project manager with Yates Construction Company in Philadelphia.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
