Clarkdale searches for coach

Because of state law, the head football coaching vacancy at Clarkdale High School will remain open for at least three weeks.
Yet because of the timing of the sudden resignation of former head coach Bubba Hathorn, Clarkdale may need to use all of that allotted time and then some.
Clarkdale principal Jan Miller said the search for a new football coach is underway.
Hathorn spent two years at Clarkdale and in that time turned around the Bulldogs' program.
Last year, the Bulldogs enjoyed their first winning season in football in nearly 20 years with a 7-5 record. This included the school's first-ever division/district championship in the sport when the club won the Division 5-2A title.
As for Hathorn's remaining staff, Miller said that a head coach would not be named from that group.
Clarkdale's staff looks to return intact with the possible exception of offensive coach Geary Gore.
Miller said her main focus has been to contact colleges and university programs statewide for a new coach.
