Services for Estola "Ms. Pet" Bailey will be held today at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Sampson Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bailey, 95, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare-Broadmoor Center.
Survivors include her adopted son, Marshall Jones of South Belle, Mich.; a daughter, Maxie Holmes of Satsuma, Ala., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
UNION Services for Ernestine Boykin May will be held today at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Skelton officiating. Burial will be in Old Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Quitman with a private, family graveside service planned.
Mrs. May, 101, of Union, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. She was a member of the Union United Methodist Church for about 60 years. She loved her church and her children dearly.
Survivors include three daughters, Maxine Rivers and Marlyn Crenshaw, both of Brandon and Betty Jean Bowles of Jackson; a sister, Mable Lucas of Quitman; two grandchildren, Connie Shoemaker and Vicky Beckham; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. May.
The family requests memorials be made to Union United Methodist Church.
DEKALB Graveside services for Frank Watson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Scooba with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Stephens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Watson, 88, of DeKalb, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, in Selma, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Lou Wall Watson of Selma, Ala.; a son, Tommy Watson and his wife, Miriam, of Scooba; daughters, Martha W. Maurer and her husband, Charlie, of Selma, and Sue W. Cooper and her husband, Jordan, of Mobile, Ala.; six grandsons, one granddaughter and 10 great-grandchildren.
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for James "Jimmy" Henry Moore will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Billy Crowe and Michael Boutwell officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery.
Mr. Moore, 39, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 in Waynesboro, Miss.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Coody Moore; his wife, Shelia Lathan Moore; a son, Eric James Moore; and a daughter, Candice Sierra Moore, all of Gilbertown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Edward Moore Jr.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
UNION Services for Thelma McBeath will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Neshoba Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss McBeath, 89, of Union, formerly of Neshoba, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Heartfelt Hospice of Lairds Hospital in Union. She taught school for 40 years, 20 in Neshoba County and the last 20 years in Jackson Public Schools. She loved music and was church organist in the Neshoba Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Mills and her husband, Robert, of Union; two sisters-in-law, Renate Crenshaw Harris of Camden, Ala.; and Audrey McBeath of Union; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Rhodes, two brothers, John and Frank Allen "Sonny"Crenshaw, and her parents, Harris McBeath and Ruby McBeath Crenshaw and her step-father, Frank Anderson Crenshaw.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
NEWTON Services for Lorene Hurst McNeil will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jackie Strebeck and David Airheart officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Hickory.
Mrs. McNeil, 85, of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 at Pecan Manor in Ft. Worth. She was born in Newton County and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Estes of Hickory and Inez McVey of Ft. Worth; a son, James E. McNeil of Ft. Worth; a brother, J.P. Hurst of Hickory; a sister, Janie Bracken of Bruce; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Green O. and Bessie Elizabeth Parks Hurst; a sister, Ozell Hegwood; and her husband, Elvin Lewis McNeil.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
