Students at Immaculate Conception School in Laurel will receive $10,000 for winning the Oscar Mayer Talent Search School House Jam contest for their rendition of Oscar Mayer's classic "Wiener Jingle" or the "Bologna Song."
Immaculate Conception was one of nearly 1,200 elementary schools nationwide to enter this year's contest. The contest was open to kindergarten through fifth-graders and is sponsored by Oscar Mayer and the National Association for Music Education.
Students competed for more than $500,000 toward their school's music programs. Oscar Mayer awarded $10,000 to one elementary school from each state.
The students will get a chance to see the "Weinermobile" Friday when it rolls into campus with a $10,000 check.
The grand prize winning school, Our Lady of Holy Souls School in Little Rock, Ark., won an additional $15,000 for their rendition of the popular jingle.
