Retired insurance auditor
Services for James W. "Jimmy" Stone Jr., will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Singletary officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Stone, 77, of Meridian, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose Lodge. He was a veteran of the Fifth U.S. Marine Corps Division, 28th Regiment, Second Battalion. He served in Hawaii March-August, 1945 and in Japan from September 1945 to July 1946. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Eloise Braddock Stone of Meridian; two sons, John Scott Stone and his wife, Deborah of Ewta, Ala., and James Marcus Stone and his wife, Diane, of Columbus; four grandsons, Matt Stone, Kevin Stafford, and Justin and Christopher Smith; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Braddock of Meridian; a niece, Tracy Jones of Harrisonburg, Va.; two nephews, Chuck and Andy Braddock of Meridian; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Stone and Eunice Harris Stone.
The family requests memorials be made to Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be Bill Warren, Lytle Stewart, Fred Moring, Dwight Callens, Heyward Dillard and Paul George.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Homemaker
Services for Doris Faye Branning Linton will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Roy Dabbs and Bill Webb officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Linton, 67, of Meridian, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Meridian.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Dedwylder and her husband, Daryl, of Quitman, Gayle Thomas and her husband Ray, Debbie Dearman and her husband, Rocky, and Kristi Lanterman and her husband, Terry, all of Meridian; nine grandchildren, Jason Dedwylder of Washington, D.C., Ben Dedwylder of Hattiesburg, Alicia King and her husband, George, Tara Thomas, Candace, John and Lindsay Dearman, and Daniel and Megan Lanterman, all of Meridian; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, and Jacob, Joshua and Justin King, all of Meridian; her mother, Hazel W. Branning of Meridian; her sister, Linda Kinard of Meridian; her brother, Tommy Branning and his wife, Pat, of Clovis, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Linton; and her father, B.C. Branning.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Dedwylder, Jason Dedwylder, Ray Thomas, George King, Michael Durham, Rocky Dearman, Terry Lanterman and Russell Carr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Dedwylder, John Dearman, Daniel Lanterman, Jacob King, Joshua King and Justin King.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Iona M. Hopson will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. L.C. Thedford officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hopson, 95, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Amorita Jimerson of Meridian; four nieces; a nephew; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired farmer
Services for Albert Burge will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Watson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burge, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include his wife, Zinnie Burge of Meridian; three daughters, Pearlie Burge of Meridian, Willie Burge Robinson and Sadie Watkins, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, Charlie Howard Burge of Providence, R.I.; a granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Eddie Chisolm Sr. will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at West Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in West Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chisolm, 78, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Chisolm of Meridian; two sons, Eddie Chisolm Jr., and his wife, Barbara, of Jackson and James Eugene Chisolm of Meridian; a stepson, Joseph Robinson and his wife, Elsie, of Emelle, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Berdia Cotton and her husband, Clyde, of Meridian; a sister, Louise Carson and her husband, Edward, of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, Joe Chisolm and his wife, Maggie, of Collinsville; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Mamie Craig will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at New Hope Blackwater Cemetery with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Craig, 88, of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Willie Hardy of Meridian; a brother, Gene Anderson of Wilmington, Calif.; a grandson; a great-grandson; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lettie Anderson.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Noel Coward, 65, of Meridian, who died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
