Jill Nicole Brantley and Robert Joseph Blackwell, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Russell Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Thrash officiating.
Parents of the couple are Rory and Cindy Brantley, and Wayne and Annette Blackwell, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Reuben and Nina Posey of Meridian, and Mack and Geneva Brantley of Princeton, La.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Grace Dufrene of Clinton, La., and the late Joseph P. Dufrene, and Bennie and Donna Appleton of Meridian.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Jewell Greer, vocalist; and Tanya Thrash, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white Cinderella-style satin gown with an overlay of tulle. The bodice was accented by a semi-small strap crisscrossed in the back with accents of bugle beads, iridescent sequins and pearls. Her cathedral-length train was also adorned with pearls and iridescent sequins. Her elbow-length veil was trimmed with satin cording and anchored by a tiara of pearls and rhinestones.
The bride carried a bouquet of peach day lilies, purple flowers and white roses with cascading ivy. She wore a diamond and pearl necklace and earrings given to her on her wedding day by her parents.
Angela Williams of Meridian served as maid of honor. Amanda Brantley of Meridian, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Blackwell, sister of the bridegroom, and Sheena Wilkerson. Shelby Brantley of Meridian, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Tim Neal of Meridian served as best man. Groomsmen were Shaune Brantley and Travis Brantley, brothers of the bride, and Andy Murphy of Meridian.
Trey Posey of Kemper County, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Program attendants and ushers were Eric Mason, Jeremy Shelton and Josh Murphy.
A reception was held at the church family life center following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Sabrina Williams and Kathy Pierce.
After a honeymoon in Orlando, Fla., and Disney World, the couple resides in Meridian.
