Two teen-agers remained in the Lauderdale County jail today after being formally charged Tuesday in the shooting death of William Gill, 23, of Meridian.
Gill's body was found early Saturday by the side of the road near the intersection of Highway 496 and Highway 19 South. The cause of death: multiple gunshot wounds from a small caliber handgun.
Jermaine Ramsey, 18, was charged with capital murder and robbery. Glen Stevens, 16, was charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder and robbery.
Both are being held in the Lauderdale County jail without bond. They had been held for questioning since Sunday.
Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said the case is still under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
A tip from a citizen led law enforcement officers to the suspects after Gill's vehicle, a GMC Yukon, was found abandoned Sunday.
