QUITMAN Graveside services for Brittany Diamond Prince will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rolling Creek Cemetery in Clarke County with the Rev. C.A. Farmer officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Brittany Diamond Prince, infant, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her father, Steven E. Prince and her mother, Amanda K. Barton, both of Stonewall; maternal grandparents, Michael Barton of Columbus and Sarah Barton of Stonewall; paternal grandparents Ann and Joey Majures of Enterprise, Steven K. Prince and Joseph T. Kostick, both of Stonewall; great maternal grandfathers, Harold Barton of Columbus, and Leroy Johnson of Stonewall; and her great paternal grandmother, Verda Prince of Stonewall.
Services for R.A. "Bob" Brewer will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Carl White officiating. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis, Tenn., on Monday at 2 p.m. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brewer, 77, of Meridian, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Burns &Burns Oil Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Hamasa Patrol Unit and past potentate, a lifetime member of VFW and a member of The Coffee Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jennings Brewer of Meridian; his children, Debbie Glenn of Byran, Martha Harris and her husband, Sonny, of Newton, Mark Brewer of Huntington, W.V., and Susan Stigler and her husband, Glenn, of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dan Glenn and his wife, Nicki, Doug Glenn and his wife, Allison, Darla Byrd and her husband, Chris, Rene Phillips and her husband, Mike, Libby Wansley and her husband, David, Hannah Brewer, Andrew Brewer, Jonathan Stigler and Jared Stigler; a great-grandchild, Katie Wansley; four brothers, John Brewer and his wife, Betty of Mt. Olive, Richard Brewer and his wife, Fran, of Louisville, Bertram Brewer and his wife, Ruth, of Villeplatte, La., and Gerald Brewer and his wife, Nancy, of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Artee Brewer Sr., and Velma Woolsey Brewer.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Harvesters Sunday School Class.
The family requests memorials be made to the Highland Baptist Church Building Fund, or to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Fred Brown will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Parker officiating. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown, 63, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Brown; and his mother, Hurtisene Brown, both of Collinsville; a daughter, Angela Oliver and her husband, Marshall, of Fayetteville, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Anngail Jennings and her husband, Donamochie, of Lithia Spring, Ga., Brenda Williams, and her husband, Andy, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Johnnie Ruth Edges and her husband, Ralph, of Meridian; a stepson, Frederick Rogers and his wife, Ollie, of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Willie Mae Lard and her husband, C.B., of Collinsville, and Ettie Burrage of Meridian; two brothers, Henry Brown and his wife, Lessie, and Curtis Brown and his wife, Idell, both of Collinsville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Brown.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial services for Earl Lewis Jr., will be held Monday at noon, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Perry McNeil officiating. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lewis, 50, of Los Angeles, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Gibbs Lewis of Los Angeles; two sons, Earl Dishay Lewis and Earvin Lewis, both of Los Angeles; six sisters, Annie R. Lewis of Los Angeles, Ethel Mac Hubbard and her husband, Jimmy, Earline Hopson, Emily Brown, and Sallie Hull and her husband, Lamar, all of Meridian, and Geraldine Loyd and her husband, Walter, of Lauderdale; four brothers, Robert Lewis and his wife, Lula, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Roosevelt Lewis and his wife, Bertha, of East St. Louis, Ill., Eddie Lee Lewis and his wife, Lucy, of Duarte, Calif., and Willie Grace and his wife, Shirley, of Lauderdale; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
UNION Services for Hazel Evans Burroughs were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Randy Edgar and Keith Grubbs officiating. Burial was in Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Dixon.
Mrs. Burroughs, 90, of Union, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at Hilltop Manor Nursing Home in Union. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Presbyterian Church and the New Ireland Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Harriet "Tootsie" Clark of Union; sons, William Chester Burroughs Jr. of Midlothian, Texas and Thomas Lavelle "Rube" Burroughs of Meridian; a sister, Thelma Barham of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Judy Underwood, Libby Fisher, Beverly Long, Stacey Clark, Steve Burroughs, Rhonda Parr, Chris Burroughs, Lane Burroughs and Tammy Burroughs, and Jessica Simpson; 11 great-grandchildren, Chris Fisher, Dassie Fisher, Brad Underwood and Nickey Underwood, Heather Johnson, Jay Johnson, Hailey Clark, Olivia Marshall, Parker Grace and Steven Burroughs; and one great-great-grandchild, Alyssa Underwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Chester Burroughs, parents, Herman and Hattie Evans and a sister Joy Butler.
Pallbearers were Stacey Clark, Lane Burroughs, Murry Underwood, Phillip Fisher, Greg Long and Bobby Tillman. Honorary pallbearer was Jay Johnson.
