On the ballot: Mississippi legislature

Here is the list of candidates who have qualified with the Mississippi Democratic and Republican parties and the Mississippi Secretary of State's office to run for East Mississippi seats in the state House and Senate.
The list was obtained from the political parties' and the Secretary of State's Internet web sites. The Democratic Party Web site is www.msdemocrats.net. The Republican Party Web site is www.msgop.org. The Secretary of State's Web site is www.sos.state.ms.us.
Candidates who planned to run as Republicans, Democrats or independents faced a Saturday deadline to qualify. Party primaries are Aug. 5 and the general election is Nov. 4.
