Feb. 27, 2003
At the beginning of the school year, Barnhill's Country Buffet challenged Carver Middle School students to read more books by offering free meals.
The students responded to the offer with 180 of them reading and reporting on five books each, according to principal Robert Markham.
Students who were unable to use their free meal coupons because of transportation problems will be treated to a special lunch today at the restaurant.
