Philips, Vick

Dana Elizabeth Vick of DeKalb and Malcolm Howard Philips III of Rockville, Md., were married Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Highland Baptist Church of Meridian with the Rev. Keith Grubbs officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Vick of DeKalb, and Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Philips Jr. of Rockville.
Grandparents of the bride are the late George and Velma Hagan, and the late Therman and Irvine Vick.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Kathlyn Philips of Huntsville, Texas, and the late Malcolm Philips Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Gilkeson of West Virginia.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tammy Miles, pianist; and Kristen Johnson, soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white formal gown of matte satin with an organza overlay. The intricately sequenced bodice was detailed into a floral pattern and featured spaghetti straps.
The skirt flowed from an empire waistline into a Tiffany-style train. Matching embroidery adorned the hemline of the skirt. She wore a two-tiered fingertip-length silk illusion veil.
Laura Beth Sylvest of New Orleans served as matron of honor. Paige Ethridge of Meridian was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Brooke and Della Bridges of New Orleans.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Todd Vick of DeKalb, Doug Hedrick, Dave Clark and Daniel Jones, all of New Orleans.
Serving as register attendant was Tammy Dempsey. Program attendants were Taylor Vick and Claire Parker.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Martha Follis, Lindsey Beddingfield, Rhonda Beddingfield, Brandi Beeson, Tammy Dempsey and Carol Hagan. Favor attendants were Lauren Beddingfield and Jenna Vick.
After a honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands, the couple resides in New Orleans.
