Waters, Brown

Mary Ellen Brown and Daniel Davis Waters were married Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Blackwater Baptist Church in Daleville. The Revs. R. L. Hunnicutt and W.D. Pigott officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William B. Brown of DeKalb, and Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Lanier Waters of Metter, Ga.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. McLelland of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney Brown of DeKalb.
The bridegroom is the grandson of James Cecil Davis of Wrightsville, Ga., and the late Mrs. Davis, and the late Henry Wallie "Doc" Waters and Mary Elese Waters of Metter.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Margaret Cade, organist; Amy Cade, Leah Duckworth and Billy Holloway, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a full-skirted candlelight strapless gown of matte satin. The corset style bodice was embellished with embroidery, delicate seed pearls and soutache trim.
Tiny covered buttons and clusters of satin roses trailed the back of the soutache trimmed chapel-length train. Her two-tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion was anchored by an embellished headband. She carried a bouquet of black magic roses and mistletoe.
Catherine Smith of Troy, Mich., cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Maureen Wilson of Sturgis served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brooke Bliss, Shannon Cini, Robin Gonzalez, Heather Johnson, Kristie Perkins and Ann Skelton. Maggie Day served as junior bridesmaid and junior groomsman was Rooks Bird, cousin of the bridegroom.
The father of the bridegroom and the bridegroom's brother, Steve Waters, served as best men.
Groomsmen were Blake Dickens, Anthony Hall, Gary Hinson, Nick Lee, Gerald Sellers and Brad Strombock. Ushers were Tietgen Edenfield, Clay Fordham, Ben Harris, Jeffrey Hilderbrandt and Jamey Motes.
Jennifer Seab served as registry attendant.
A reception was held at Briarwood Country Club. Carey Smith's band provided the music.
On the eve of the wedding, the wedding party and out-of-town guests enjoyed a rehearsal dinner at Union Station. Music was provided by the Magnolia Strings Quartet.
After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Athens, Ga.
