Shooting suspect could be charged

The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said today that a suspect held since Sunday in a non-fatal shooting may be charged soon.
Maj. Ward Calhoun said deputies were dispatched Sunday, at about 3:30 p.m., to a residence on Northeast Cole Road.
There they found Ronnie Naylor, who had apparently been shot once in the chest with a small-caliber weapon. Naylor was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle, Calhoun said, then transported to another private hospital where surgery was performed. He said Naylor is in guarded but stable condition.
