Meridian firefighters are investigating a fire that damaged a house today at 2524 Grandview Ave. The fire occurred about 5:30 a.m. and firefighters remained at the scene for about an hour.
Battalion Chief Anthony Clayton, who was on shift at the time of the fire, was filling out paperwork this morning and was not immediately available to answer questions.
Battalion Chief Howard Gibson, who came on shift later, said that at least two trucks, a rescue truck and a ladder truck were rushed to the scene. He said the fire caused moderate damage to the house.
Metro Ambulance was also called to the scene, but its dispatchers said no one was transported to a hospital.
