Bates, Coggins

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bates and Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Kynerd of Philadelphia announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie Kay Bates, to Christopher Scott Coggins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry N. Coggins of West Point.
The wedding will be Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, in Ochio Rios, Jamaica.
Miss Bates is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hal E. Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bates, all of Philadelphia, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McNair of Union.
The bride-elect is a 1995 graduate of Neshoba Central High School. She received a degree from East Central Community College and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University.
Miss Bates is a first-grade teacher in West Point.
Mr. Coggins is the grandson of Ada Booker of West Point and the late David Booker, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coggins, all of West Point.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Tupelo High School. He attended East Mississippi Community College and is a graduate of Alabama Fire College.
He is currently a firefighter and EMT in West Point.
