NEW ORLEANS Philadelphia's own Fred McAfee pulled off another bit of special teams trickery on Sunday. With his team facing fourth-and-5 from its own 35 and trailing 14-6 at the 11:47 mark of the third quarter, McAfee took the direct snap from center and scatted 11 yards for the needed first down, which served to keep the eventual touchdown drive alive. Unfortunately for McAfee, however, it was the team's only TD of the day.
The last time McAfee found himself in a similar situation was Oct. 15, 2000 at home against the Carolina Panthers. Then, the run went for 40 yards and gave way to the go-ahead score.
Injury update
Jerome Pathon sustained a concussion, Fred Thomas (bruised ribs) Boo Williams (back) and Sedrick Hodge also has a concussion. None are expected to miss much time.
