Ira Douglas Carmichael

Services for Ira Douglas Carmichael will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Chapel on Highway 45 South with the Rev. Buddy Petty officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Carmichael, 49, formerly of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include his brothers, Daniel R. Carmichael and his wife, Becky, of Birmingham, Ala., Terry Carmichael and his wife, Kim, and Jeff Carmichael, all of Meridian; sisters, Pamela Byrnes and her husband, Patrick, of Hernando and Patti Pena of Meridian; several nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Doris Scarbrouugh of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his father, David M. Carmichael and his mother, Bonnie R. Carmichael and a sister, Cathy M. Brogan.
Pallbearers will be Terry Carmichael, Terry Carmichael Jr., Adam Carmichael, Jeff Carmichael, Patrick Byrnes, and Tony Anthony.
Visitation will be Saturday 30 minutes prior to the services.
Lena Christine Wilbanks Flash
Retired nurse
QUITMAN Services for Lena Christine Wilbanks Flash will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shubuta Baptist Church with the Revs. Avery Jones and Gene Higginbotham officiating. Burial will be in Shubuta Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Flash, 83, of Shubuta, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Meridian.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Ray Flash and his wife, Nadine Sweet-Flash of St. Clair, Mo.; a daughter, Latricia Flash-Short of Orange Beach, Ala.; a brother, Ray Wilbanks of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandsons, Jacob Toney IV of Gautier, Major Lee Flash of Spring, Texas, Trent Short of Montevello, Ala., Kevin Flash Kolinsky of Arizona and Keith Flash Kolinsky of Michigan; a granddaughter, Lucy Short of Orange Beach; and five stepgrandchildren, Joseph Adams of Jackson, Robert Adams, Mark Knighten and Timothy Knighten, all of Gautier, and William Adams of Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Toney, Trent Short, Joseph Adams, Lee Flash, Mark Knighten and Shawn Toney.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Walter F. Kasting
Graveside services for Walter F. "Wally" Kasting will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Kasting of Raleigh, N.C., died March 24, 2000, after having made arrangements to donate his body for medical research. His ashes will be interred at the graveside service. He was a retired Mississippi Power Company employee and a longtime member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ward Kasting.
William Timothy Runnels
Services for William Timothy Runnels will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Davey Wilkenson and Donald Wayne Gentry officiating with music by Clement White. Burial will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Kewanee.
Tim Runnels, 33, of Toomsuba, a graduate of Northeast High School, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy Runnels; a son, James David Runnels, both of Toomsuba; his father and mother, David and Faye Ward of Toomsuba; his mother-in-law, Imogene Williamson of Causeyville; a sister, Kim Riley and her husband, Ricki, of Quitman; his stepbrothers, Rodney Ward and his wife, Kim, of Quitman and Scott Ward of Toomsuba; a brother-in-law, Ricky Williamson and his wife, Ann Williamson of Stonewall; sisters-in-law, Donna Shirley and her husband, Randy, of Whynot and Barbara Christian and her husband, Willie D. Christian of Cuba, Ala.; his grandmother, Catherine Long of Lauderdale; his grandfather and grandmother, Abe and Margie Ward of Toomsuba; and several special uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include family and friends: Jody Smith, Dewayne Hubbard, Mark Barrett, Artis Bunyard, Bill Bunyard, Jimmy Eckman, Jay Pierce, Chris Bartlett, Joey Shelby, Purvis Shelton, Ricky Kenney, Steven Shirley and Michael Shirley;
Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Rainer, Ryan Shelton, James Bunyard, Bill McElroy, Bobby Barrett, Herman "Shot" Brown, Billy Barrett and Charles David Shelby.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
