Mr. and Mrs. Perry Nair England of Greenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate Alford, to Tyler Matthew Walton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Walton of Meridian.
The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at 6 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
Miss England is the granddaughter of Edgar Vaughn Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Addams England Jr., all of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gallatin Paxton of Branson, Mo., and the late Myrtis Walcott England.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Washington High School and received her bachelor's degree from Millsaps College. She received her master's in environmental sciences from the University of Sydney, Australia.
While attending Millsaps, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar, a cum laude graduate and was chosen as Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Miss England is employed by the United States Environmental Services as their business development manager.
Mr. Walton is the grandson of Mattie Ellen Germany Walton of Meridian, the late Russell Ernest Walton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Buren Partridge Jr.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received his bachelor's degree in geology from Millsaps College. He earned a master's in forest economics from Mississippi State University.
While attending Millsaps, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, a cum laude graduate, chosen as Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. He also served as a campus senator.
Mr. Walton is employed by Trustmark National Bank as their cash management representative.
A reception will be held at England Motor Co. following the ceremony.
