The Meridian Police Department released an unnamed suspect Tuesday afternoon who had been held in connection with the fatal shooting Saturday of Michael Drake.
Drake, 27, died early Sunday while on the way to University Medical Center in Jackson of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck. Drake originally had been taken to Riley Hospital and was being transported to UMC.
The shooting happened Saturday night at a 29th Avenue home in Meridian, said Detective Deano Harper, MPD spokesman. Police were called to a residence at 1209 29th Ave. at about 8:45 p.m.
