    Obituaries for Monday, Sept. 2, 2002

    FLOYD JOSH COODY
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Floyd Josh Coody will be held today at 10 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Fred Wiley and Clovis Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Mosley Cemetery.
    Mr. Coody, 87, of Gilbertown, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, in Meridian, Miss.
    Survivors include his wife, Vernie Coody of Gilbertown; three sons, Loyl Coody of Gilbertown, Roy Coody of Toxey and Raymond Coody of Weslaco, Texas; two daughters, Rachael Coody and Ruby Sellers, both of Gilbertown; two brothers, Dennis Coody of Gilbertown and Mathey Lee Coody of Toxey; two sisters, Abeline Downing of Toxey and Mary Adams of Butler; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Wilford Coody.
    EZRA LEE ADAMS

    DEKALB Graveside services for Ezra Lee Adams will be held today at 1 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Bass officiating. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Adams, 53, of Detroit, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at his home.
    Survivors include his wife, Alice Faye Adams of Detroit; four children, Carlos Taylor and Shawn Taylor, both of Detroit and Charles Kemp and Nakia Kemp, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren; his mother, Birdie L. Adams of DeKalb; five sisters, Mary A. Temple and her husband, Robert, Billy Adams and Dianne Adams, all of DeKalb, Dorothy A. Grady and her husband, James, of Ocean Springs and Earlene Adams of Chicago; three brothers, Ben Adams and his wife, Clara, and Clark Adams, all of DeKalb and Fletcher Adams of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
    OLA SULLIVAN

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Ola Sullivan will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Kemper County with the Revs. Ernest Harold Allen and Allen Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Springs Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Sullivan, 80, of Collinsville, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
    She was born and raised in Kemper County but had lived in Lauderdale County for the past several years and was a member of Pine Grove Church in the Martin community.
    Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Allen and Martha Tubby, both of Meridian; four sons, Conner Odell Sullivan of Decatur, Jimmy Dell Sullivan of Meridian, Richard Wayne Sullivan of DeKalb and Johnny Lee Sullivan of Collinsville; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Clyde Wright of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Sullivan in 1969; a son, R.C. Sullivan in 1996; and a daughter, Bobbie Nell Sullivan in 1948.
    Pallbearers will be Charles Allen, Steve Wright, Clyde Wright, Michael Wright, Harvey Wright and Ellis Denton.
    RON L. COLEMAN
    Retired
    Services for Ron L. Coleman will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ with the Rev. Allen Shortridge officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Coleman, 56, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam war and a member of Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.
    Survivors include his wife, Adele Coleman of McKinney, Texas; four sisters, Marsha Villarreal and her husband, Fermin, of Lubbock, Texas, Marilyn Coleman of McKinney, Debbie Brock and her husband, Jerry and Lana King and her husband, Newell, all of Garland, Texas; three stepchildren, Nancy Price and her husband, Jimmy, and Charles Martin Jr., all of Meridian and Tammy Martin of Alabama; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Coleman and a grandson, George David Minor Jr.
    The family requests memorials be made to the cost of the funeral.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday two hours prior to the service at the church.
    HUGH AARON YATES
    Farmer, carpenter
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Hugh Aaron Yates will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at John E. Stephens Funeral Services Chapel with the Revs. Howard Herring and Ray Luke officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Yates, 95, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
    Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Mitchell of Jackson, Janette Williamson and Rebecca Ann Yates, both of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, James William Yates of Denton, Texas and Lynn Yates of Philadelphia; a sister, Louise Parker of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    TOMMY CLEMMONS
    SEBASTOPOL Services for Tommy Clemmons will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Bogue Chitto Community Cemetery Number Two. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Clemmons, 66, of Choctaw, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include a daughter, Claudine Bell of Philadelphia; two sisters, Josephine Tubby and Mary Bell, both of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    LAWLESS COOKSEY
    UNION Arrangements were incomplete at Milling Funeral Home for Lawless Cooksey, 79, of Decatur, who died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
