Infant drowns at Quitman water park

Quitman police are investigating the drowning death of a 3-year-old boy on Sunday at Archusa Water Park on Fallen Creek Road.
Quitman Police Chief Jimmy Ivy said there were other people swimming in the water when the accident occurred and that it wasn't until they emerged that the child's mother realized he was missing.
Ivy said Archusa Water Park does not have life guards on duty. Pattie Tindle, Archusa Water Park manager, declined to comment.
The Clarke County coroner could not be reached for comment on the cause of death.
