Amanda Nicole Reeves and Charles Preston Welch were married Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Oakland Baptist Church with the Rev. Warren Hedgepeth officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frink, Kenneth Reeves of Decatur, Mr. and Mrs. John Ledbetter of Benton and Mr. and Mrs. Will Welch of Laurel.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Herschel James and Ozelle Reeves, all of Decatur ,and the late Singleton Reeves.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Helen Edwards and the late Vick Edwards, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Welch Sr.
Nuptial music was provided by Nancy Chaney and Christy Savell, soloist.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless gown of white matte satin overlaid with French bridal tulle and heavily adorned with bugle beads, crystals and pearls. The back of the dress featured covered buttons to the waistline that flowed into a chapel-length train adorned with Alencon lace border. Her crystal tiara anchored a fingertip-length veil of silk illusion enhanced by a corded edge of crystals.
She carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies, calla lilies, carnations, roses and heather.
Christy Savell attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Karla Russell, Jennifer Tadlock and Stacey Smith. Flower girls were Sydni Savell, niece of the bride, and Taylor Welch, niece of the bridegroom.
Trae Welch served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Vince Welch, brother of the bridegroom, Jay Taylor and Chad Sheely. Ring bearer was Cody McMahan, nephew of the bride.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
On the eve of the wedding, parents of the bridegroom entertained the wedding party and out-of-town guests at Garvin's Steakhouse in Newton.
Following a honeymoon cruise to Playadel Carmen and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple resides in Brandon.
