MACON Services for Kirby Goodin will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shuqualak Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Tew officiating. Burial will be in Shuqualak Cemetery with Cockrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodin, 81, of Del Mar, Calif., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in California. He was born in Winston County on Feb. 27, 1920. He attended Winston County public schools and business school in Meridian. He married Annie Mae Thompson on Oct. 4, 1941. Mr. Goodin served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for Ford Motor Company in Memphis, Tenn., for 36 years before retiring and returning to a farm in Shuqualak. He moved from Shuqualak with his wife to the San Diego area in 1990 to be near his son's family.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Annie Mae Goodin, a son, Daniel T. Goodin and his wife, Jane, and a granddaughter, Annika Goodin, all of Del Mar; a brother, Oscar Goodin and his wife, Helen, of DeKalb; a sister, Leona McBrayer of Dallas; three sisters-in-law, Mary Goodin of Philadelphia, Roberta Hickson and her husband, Buddy, of Jackson and Linda Thompson of Decatur, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews from Mississippi, Alabama and Texas.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
CALVIN E. SCARBROUGH

Services for Calvin E. "Gene" Scarbrough will be held today at 2 p.m. at Russell Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Thrash officiating. Burial will be in Old Marion Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scarbrough, 77, of Meridian, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in his home. He was a member of Russell Baptist Church and a charter member of the Queen City Investment Club. Prior to his retirement he was commanding officer in the 1180 1st Transportation Co. in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was also a retired clerk with the I.C.G. Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle H. Scarbrough; a daughter, Sue S. Wilson and her husband, Billy, of Oklahoma City; a son, Don Scarbrough and his wife, Norma, of Meridian; five grandchildren, Jason Wilson and Jared Wilson of Oklahoma, Gordon and Sarah Scarbrough of Meridian, and Jennifer Scarbrough of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Calvin E. Scarbrough Jr.
The family requests memorials be made to the building fund at Russell Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Barnett, Billy Scarbrough, James Jones, Buddy Hines, John Harper and Russ Buntyn.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Williams, Henry Moore, members of the Queen City Investment Club and the Mens 2 Bible Class at Russell Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Velma J. Broadhead will be held today at 2 p.m. at Needham Assembly of God with the Revs. Kenny Morris and C.E. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Brightwater Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Broadhead, 90, of Needham, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Miriam B. Boney of Needham; a sister, Betty Lou Boykin of Loxley; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services for Francis C. "Cliff" Blake will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Chunky United Methodist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Howard officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blake, 81, of Chunky, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Chunky United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eris A. Blake of Chunky; three sons, John D. Blake and his wife, Sally, of Long Beach, Charles R. Blake and his wife, Becki, of Chunky and Bill Blake and his wife, Dianne, of Butler, Ala.; a sister, Ruth Temple and her husband, John, of Meridian; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora L. and Marie Blake.
Pallbearers will be Joe Clark, John Clark, Olen Hull, Dewey Smith, Ralph Anderson and Marshall Witter.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Hopkins, 85, of York, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Marion.
Survivors include a son, Ollie R. Hopkins Sr. of Meridian; a sister, Willie Galloway of Cuba; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martin, 92, of Butler, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.

Mr. Wilkerson, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from East Mississippi State Hospital Transportation Department.
Survivors include his wife, Audene Harris Wilkerson of Meridian; a daughter, Elizabeth Garrett of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Billy Ray Wilkerson and his wife, Rachel and Victor Wilkerson and his wife, Johnnie, all of Meridian, Gerald Wilkerson and his wife, Mary, of Hattiesburg and Kenneth Wilkerson and his wife, Betty, of Chunky; sisters, Elvie Walker of Union and Mary Lancaster of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian and Thursday 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home in Union.
