Two local teams will be fighting for a spot in Saturday's 3A-2A-1A Boys State Soccer Championship when they square off at Clarkdale high school at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
The host Bulldogs of Clarkdale, now 15-2 on the season following an impressive 2-0 win over Mercy Cross on Saturday, will entertain traditional power West Lauderdale.
The winner will be the South State champions and move to the title game on Saturday at a site to be determined.
WL, which has appeared in the state championship game in each of the past three seasons, comes into the game with a 15-4 record, including a 6-0 win over Clarkdale earlier this season.
West Lauderdale advanced to this round by pounding Natchez Cathedral, 10-0.
