MCC golf team finishes fourth

JACKSON The No. 4 ranked Meridian Community College golf team hit the links and placed fourth in the Belhaven Invitational at Castlewoods.
The Eagles were led in scoring by David Bailey, as he fired a two-day total of 154. Trae Vaughan finished 155 for the two days. Sophomore Chris Davis fired a total of 165. John David Barr shot 167; Nichalos Swanner fired a 170 to round out the top five for the Eagles.
Brett Clopton shot 172, as he competed as an individual for the Eagles. Clopton's score did not affect the team score.
The Eagles sport a No.4 ranking in the NJCAA poll, as they have won two tournaments in the Fall season.
The Eagles won their Invitational held at Briarwood Country Club and the Andrew College Tournament in Cutberth, Ga.
The Eagles will travel to Gulf Coast to tangle with the Bulldogs in the season finale, Nov. 11-12.
