    OBITUARIES FOR THURSDAY, SEPT. 27, 2001

    GLYNN WILSON TEMPLE
    Retired trucker, county inspector
    JONESBORO, Ga. Services for Glynn Wilson Temple were held Tuesday at Tara Garden Chapel. Burial was in Jonesboro City Cemetery.
    Mr. Temple, 76, a native of Lauderdale County, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in his home in Jonesboro. He was raised in the Center Hill community and resided in Meridian.
    Mr. Temple served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He transferred from Meridian to Atlanta with Dixie-Cole (formerly Dixie Highway Express) retiring after 30 years with the trucking industry. He later retired after 16 years as an inspector for Clayton County, Ga. He was a member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Montez Fairchild Temple; a daughter, Pamela Coombs and her husband, Herbert, of Stockbridge, Ga.; a son, Glynn Michael Temple of Petersburg, Va.; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; a brother, George L. Temple and his wife, Juanita, of Meridian; sisters, Grace Pace of Tallahassee, Fla., Walterine Wilson and her husband, Pete, of Jackson, Tenn., Imogene Riley of Pearl and Merle Albritton of Madison; sisters-in-law, Winnie Fairchild of Mobile, Ala., and Jacqueline F. Clearman of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lavelle and Ethel White Temple and a brother Dewayne Temple.
    GRACE ERLINE ROBERTS
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Grace Erline Roberts will be held today at 11 a.m. at Cullomburg Baptist Church with the Revs. Jessie Griffith and Don Whigham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Roberts, 82, of Silas, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in Waynesboro.
    Survivors include four sons, William Simmie Roberts of Lynn Haven, Fla., Henry Paul Roberts and Billy Ray Roberts, both of Silas, and Jerry Blount Roberts of Gilbertown; a daughter, Ruth Erline Whigham Howell of Meridian; a sister, Lena Griffith of Butler; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Mark Roberts.
    ELVIE LEE EASOM
    Retired from Marks Rothenberg
    UNION Services for Elvie Lee Easom will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
    Mrs. Easom, 94, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
    Survivors include three sisters, Alma Wallace of Union, Geneva Easom and Nadine Easom, both of Meridian; and two nieces, Christeen Templin of Bessemer, Ala., and Brenda McElhenney of Union.
    Pallbearers will be Jason McElhenney, Cupid McElhenney, Casey McElhenney, Tim Graham, Wilbert Easom and Alan Wallace.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 10 a.m.
    LORENE WHITE MOORE
    Retired teacher with Kemper County School System
    Services for Lorene White Moore will be held Friday at noon at St. John Primitive Baptist Church in Porterville with the Rev. Greg Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Moore, 91, of Porterville, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in DeKalb.
    PAULINE CHAMBLISS
    Services for Pauline Chambliss will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Ollie C. Patton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Chambliss, 80, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in Meridian.
    Survivors include two sisters, Sally Chambliss of Meridian and Ora D. Clark of Indianapolis, Ind.
    Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MARIE ELLERBY
    Homemaker
    DEKALB Services for Marie Ellerby will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery.
    Mrs. Ellerby, 81, of Meridian, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include five daughters, Ella Mae Ellerby and Dorothy J. Dawson, both of DeKalb, Alma McCullam of Birmingham, Ala., Mary A. Nolan and her husband, Archie, and Francie Walk and her husband, Henry, all of Meridian; five sons, Willie Roy Ellerby, L.C. Ellerby and his wife, Mammie, Willie Charles Ellerby and his wife, Ilois, Willie Ray Ellerby and his wife, Gloria, and Johnny Will Ellerby, all of DeKalb; a brother, Eugene Campbell and a sister, Ethel M. Hudson, both of Meridian; 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter.
    Visitation will be Friday from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    EUNICE SEVERANCE IRBY
    Graveside services for Eunice Severance Irby will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Irby of Meridian died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at The Speciality Hospital of Meridian.
    Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ED DIXON
    Retired self-employed logger
    Services for Ed Dixon will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Union Hill AOH Church of God with Eldress Melissa Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Dixon, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include six sons, Herman Dixon and his wife, Frances, U.L. Dixon and his wife, Mildred, all of Los Angeles, Eddie Dixon, Rome Dixon and his wife, Virgie, and Jerome Dixon, all of Meridian, Wally Dixon and his wife, Marilyn, of Columbus, Ga.; two daughters, Sceneida Phillips and her husband, Jackie, of Meridian and Cecil Baker and her husband, Floyd, of Los Angeles; a foster son, Jessie Winfield of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Jessie Dixon of Mobile, Ala., and S.L. Wiley of Atmore, Ala.; two sisters, Dessie McGlasker of Mobile and Betty Rembert of Atmore, Ala.; 32 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Ethel D. Stennis, 81, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Estelle B. Glass, 72, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
