    OBITUARIES FOR THURSDAY, AUG. 30, 2001

    SEBASTOPOL Services for Andrew "Andy" Thorp Underwood will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Sebastopol Baptist Church with the Revs. John Sharp, David Sartin and Hank Moore officiating. Burial will be in Sebastopol City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Underwood, 24, of Leake, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Leake Memorial Hospital. He was employed as a respiratory therapist at Winston County Medical Center.
    Survivors include his father, Elbert B. Underwood, his mother, Jimmie Lee Underwood, a brother, Matthew Underwood and his maternal grandmother, Annie Garder, all of Walnut Grove; and his paternal grandmother, Mable Underwood of Sebastopol.
    Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    UNION Services for Doris J. Smith will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at County Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Truhitt and Audrey Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Golden Grove Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Smith, 68, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Meridian.
    Survivors include two sons, Randall C. Smith and Paul R. Smith and a daughter, Debra A. Hyatt, all of Philadelphia; a sister, Freda Morgan of Ringold, Ga.; three brothers, James Avant of North Carolina, Thomas Avant of Houston, Texas, and John Avant of Water Valley; and six grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer C. Smith and grandson, Justin D. Hyatt.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    EVIE G. BARNACASTLE
    Services for Evie G. Barnacastle will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sepus Garrett and James Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery.
    Mrs. Barnacastle, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, in her home.
    Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service.
    HUEY LONG STANLEY
    Retired postal inspector
    SLIDELL, La. Memorial services for Huey Long Stanley will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Honaker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Prator officiating.
    Mr. Stanley, 65, of Slidell, a native of Wayne County, Miss., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in his home.
    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Robinson Stanley of Slidell; two daughters, Melanie Robin Stanley of Fountain Valley, Calif. and Jill Elizabeth Stanley of New York City; a brother, David Elmo Stanley of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, William Elmo and Effie Mae Miller Stanley.
    The family requests memorials be made to Slidell Memorial Hospice, 1045 Florida Ave., Slidell, LA 70458.
    LEROY CHAMBERLAIN
    Truck driver
    DEKALB Services for Leroy Chamberlain will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Gholson with the Rev. Ozell Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Chamberlain, 64, of DeKalb, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Noxubee County General Hospital in Macon.
    Survivors include 12 children, Marzell Stennis and his wife, Teresa, Roy Chamberlain and his wife, Beverly, R.C. Chamberlain and his wife, Marilyn, Mamie Wimsatt and her husband, Van, all of Anderson, Ind.; Bennie Chamberlain of Lafayette, Ind.; Johnny Chamberlain and his wife, Frances, Levi Chamberlain and his wife, Jean, and James Chamberlain and his wife, Tonya, all of DeKalb; Lula Chamberlain and her husband, Pete, and Minnie Coleman and her husband, the Rev. Vincent Coleman, all of Preston; Mary Chamberlain and her husband, Paul, of Noxapater; and Lillie King and her husband, Sherman, of Evanston, Ill.; 34 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
    Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    LESTER RAMSEY

    Services for Lester Ramsey will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie D. Burton officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
    Mr. Ramsey, 45, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in Meridian.
    Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bell Ramsey of Meridian; a son, Christopher McNeil and his mother, Janie Ramsey, both of Lauderdale; four sisters, Lillie Mae Davis and her husband, John, of Albuquerque, N.M., Carolyn Hudnall of Houston, Texas, Mary Williams and Gale White and her husband, James, of Porterville; three brothers, Robert Gowdy of Lauderdale, Claiborne Brown and his wife, Lela, of St. Louis and Hubert Clinton of Iowa.
    He was preceded in death by his father.
    Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    RANSOM GRADY CROSS
    HOLLYWOOD, Fla. Ransom Grady Cross, 74, of Hollywood, formerly of Meridian, Miss., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2001.
    Survivors include his daughters, Suzanne Cross and Leigh Cross; a granddaughter, Ashley Cross-Rappaport and her husband, Mitch; a sister, Frances Civitts and her husband, Warner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Panciera Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Margo Herrington, 62, of Collinsville, who died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
